Pure mineral makeup contains nothing but the finest minerals, specially processed to be light, silky and designed to stay on your skin. Some minerals provide the colour, others provide the opacity and - in shimmery products - the sparkle. Some minerals naturally protect skin from the sun and environment and happily, these are minerals common to almost every product we make.

Ferric Ferrocyanide (CI 77510): an inorganic mineral salt used to provide a rich blue colour. Cosmetic-grade ferric ferrocyanide is approved for use on the eyes and face in the U.S., and on lips, eyes and face in the E.U. and Japan. We use it in a few of our eyeshadows and shimmer powders. Please note: Ferric ferrocyanide is not approved for use on the lips in the U.S.

Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499): inorganic compounds created from purified, oxidised iron. Iron oxides range in shade from yellow to red, brown and black. Approved for use in cosmetics in the U.S., E.U. and Japan.

Kaolin (CI 77004): a hydrated aluminium silicate, also known as china clay. It's very pure, soft and matte, and is highly prized for its gently absorptive properties and lustrous feel. Approved for use in cosmetics in the U.S., E.U. and Japan.

Mica (CI 77019): an inorganic, colourless silicate mineral that provides lustre and adhesion. We use mica in most of our cosmetics for its luxurious silkiness and subtly reflective properties. It's available in many grades, some known as “sericite” or matte, that range in textures from matte to shimmery. Approved for use in cosmetics in the U.S., E.U. and Japan.

Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891): a naturally occurring oxide of titanium, generally used as a pigment. Cosmetics grades are extremely pure and highly prized as an effective nonchemical sunscreen. Titanium dioxide is found in our Satin Matte Foundation and most of our colour cosmetics. It is not used in our Color Balancing Powder, Balancing Primer Powder or Satin Finishing Powder. We do not use nano-sized titanium dioxide in our formulas. Approved for use in cosmetics in the U.S., E.U. and Japan.

Ultramarines (CI 77007): a blue inorganic mineral pigment composed of complex sodium aluminium sulfosilicates. Ultramarine blue is found in a few of our Satin Matte Eyeshadows and Satin Matte Eyeliners. Approved for use in cosmetics in the U.S., E.U. and Japan.

Zinc Oxide (CI 77947): an inorganic chemical compound found in nature as zincite. Refined zinc oxide is used in cosmetics as a white pigment, and is highly prized as a non-chemical sunscreen. It is also regarded as anti-microbial and wound-healing. Zinc oxide is found in Alima's Satin Matte Foundation and Balancing Primer Powder. We do not use nano-sized zinc oxide in our formulations. Approved for use in cosmetics in the U.S., E.U. and Japan.

Great concealer

This concealer covers extremely well and is very light weight. It gives a good airbrushed look for areas under the eyes but is not good for use on blemishes! A little goes a long way and I really enjoy using it in conjunction with a cream concealer for blemishes.

Too ashy for darker skin tones

I bought the concealer in maple, and was surprised to find it too light! My skin tone is similar to Halle Berry or Alicia Keys. It was unpleasantly ashy and therefore unusable. I wish the sample size had been available!

Long Lasting

Silky, buildable coverage. Long-lasting. I wore this on a beach day to cover acne scars and it lasts through even with swimming in the ocean. Great product!

Excellent Coverage!

This concealer really lives up the name as most concealers I have used really don't conceal a **** of a lot but this one has fantastic coverage. You do have to apply very lightly or you can get a powdery patchy look. I have found using a concealer brush works best for even coverage. I have hereditary dark lines under my eyes and this concealer does the best job of concealing them. I have to make sure my skin has been well moisturised before applying concealer or it can give an aged look under the eyes because it is a powder.

Fantastic concealer

I am always on the hunt for a great concealer. I have dark circles from allergies and such and this concealer conceals well. Not completely full coverage but enough to be happy with the results. Must use sparingly though, a light hand is a must. It's also great when your in a rush and don't want to bother with a cream concealer. It's quick and easy to apply. My skin tone is light to medium neutral and the colour linen was a perfect match. Sand was too light.
